₦110.4bn Fraud Allegations: Court Summons Yahaya Bello.

The Chief Judge of Federal Capital Territory High Court in Abuja, Justice Maryanne Anenih has made a public announcement against Yahaya Bello, the immediate past Governor of Kogi State, requiring him to appear in court over fraud allegations.

The former governor is facing a 16-count charge and is expected to respond to the summons on October 24.

According to the announcement by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Yahaya Bello is obliged to attend court for his arraignmnet alongside two other defendants.

Justice Anenih’s order also requires the EFCC to ensure the public summons is published in a widely circulated newspaper for public awareness.

Additionally, the court directed that copies of the summons be posted at Bello’s last known address and in prominent locations around the court premises.

This move follows the EFCC’s claim that previous efforts to serve the charges on Bello, filed on September 24, had been unsuccessful.

The former governor and two other individuals, Umar Oricha and Abdulsalami Hudu, are facing accusations of criminal breach of trust involving the misappropriation of ₦110.4 billion.
