The Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, has assured Nigerians, particularly the Muslim community, of a stable power supply throughout the holy month of Ramadan, which commenced on Saturday.

In a statement, Adelabu acknowledged the increased electricity demand during Suhoor (pre-dawn meal), Iftar (post-sunset meal), and Taraweeh (night prayers) and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring a steady power supply. He emphasised ongoing efforts to enhance power infrastructure, reduce grid instability, and expand electricity access nationwide.

The Minister also encouraged responsible energy use, urging Nigerians to adopt energy-saving habits like turning off unnecessary lights and using efficient appliances to ease pressure on the national grid.

Beyond electricity concerns, Adelabu described Ramadan as a time for spiritual renewal, unity, and acts of charity, urging Muslims to pray for Nigeria’s peace, stability, and development.
