Nollywood actress Dayo Amusa has shared her thoughts on the messy family drama between singer Asake and an elderly man, Fatai Odunsi, who claims to be his father.
In an Instagram post, Amusa spoke about the lasting impact of parental presence and love, hinting that Asake’s fame and success don’t erase whatever struggles he may have faced growing up.
“When Asake covered his face in tattoos, I thought he was either rebranding or hiding a pain he wasn’t ready to confront,” she wrote.
Amusa refrained from taking sides but pointed out that the singer deserves love, not public drama. She added that children who grow up feeling unloved often carry emotional scars that money or success can’t fix.
Her comments follow Odunsi’s viral video, where he claimed to be Asake’s father and pleaded for financial help, saying he has been battling a stroke since 2022. He alleged that despite reaching out multiple times, Asake has ignored him.
Asake, however, responded indirectly in a TikTok video, singing in Yoruba: “You can’t please everyone… My own father wants to cajole me, and I have sent so much money to him.”
Meanwhile, the drama took another turn as some family members accused Asake of neglecting a little girl, Zeenat, who is allegedly his daughter. They called for a DNA test to confirm paternity.
Amusa, speaking from personal experience, urged parents to be actively involved in their children’s lives. “A child who feels truly loved at home has less to prove to the world,” she said, adding that she wishes Asake well.
For now, Asake has kept things cryptic, leaving fans to wonder if he will ever address the situation head-on.
