South Africa has simplified its visa process for Nigerian tourists and businesspeople.

The new system allows applications without submitting passports.

President Cyril Ramaphosa announced this at the Nigeria-South Africa Bi-National Commission in Cape Town, with President Bola Tinubu in attendance.

According to a statement from Presidential Adviser Bayo Onanuga, the changes include five-year multiple-entry visas for qualified Nigerian businesspeople.

He also promised to address issues affecting companies in both nations.

As both countries celebrate 30 years of diplomatic relations, Ramaphosa called for stronger economic ties and more investments.

He praised Nigeria’s business reforms and shared hopes for better trade opportunities.

He assured South Africa’s commitment to making business easier and prioritising African development in global discussions like the G20.
