Nigerian singer Asake has made history by being featured on the soundtrack of the highly popular video game NBA 2K25.
The game, released on September 6, 2024, is developed by Visual Concepts and published by 2K. It is the 26th installment in the NBA 2K series, which is known for its realistic basketball simulation.
Asake, known for his Neo-Fuji sound, is featured with his hit track “Wave”, which includes a collaboration with British rapper Central Cee.
The game’s soundtrack also includes contributions from other artists like Lil Pete and Key Glock, alongside many global talents.
This marks Asake’s place in a series of achievements for Nigerian artists, joining names like Seun Kuti, Adekunle Gold, and Burna Boy on the NBA 2K soundtrack.
His inclusion comes shortly after other Nigerian stars such as Rema, Omah Lay, Shallipopi, and Obongjayar were added to the official soundtrack for EA Sports FIFA/FC 25.
