Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has cautioned the Federal Government against any misuse of the $1.07 billion health sector budget, warning that Nigerians will not tolerate another round of bizarre excuses like “snakes swallowing money.”

Atiku criticised the lack of transparency in government spending, noting that previous cases of vanishing public funds were never properly investigated. He stressed that with Nigeria’s healthcare system already struggling, every kobo must be accounted for and maximally utilised.

He challenged the Tinubu administration to provide a clear and detailed breakdown of how the funds, along with the ₦2.48 trillion initially allocated will be spent.

According to him, Nigerians deserve more than vague promises; they need full transparency and public audits to ensure the money actually improves healthcare services.
