Controversial cross-dresser Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, has been released on bail by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) after his detainment and questioning over bribery allegations.
Bobrisky was reportedly apprehended late Thursday night at Lagos’ Murtala Muhammed International Airport while preparing to board a flight to Amsterdam en route to London.
Soon after, he notified his followers via social media, claiming he had sustained injuries during the arrest.
Following his detainment, Bobrisky was flown to the EFCC headquarters in Abuja for interrogation over alleged claims that he bribed EFCC officials to dismiss money laundering charges against him.
Bobrisky was eventually released on bail late Friday night, a development confirmed by EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale, who declined to provide further details.
However, a source close to the investigation revealed that Bobrisky denied all bribery claims during his statement to EFCC officials, challenging Otse to substantiate the accusations made in the voice note.
“He denied everything about releasing money to any official…he said nobody requested money from him in the EFCC, and he didn’t give anyone anything,” the source added.
