Nigeria, alongside Namibia, the Republic of the Congo, and Chad, is set to host Wang Yi, Chinese Foreign Minister and member of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee’s Political Bureau, this month.
The visit, scheduled from January 5 to January 11, 2025, continues a longstanding tradition where the Chinese foreign minister’s first overseas trip of the year focuses on Africa.
This marks the 35th consecutive year of the practice.
The announcement was made by Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning, who disclosed that the trips were arranged upon invitations from the respective nations.
