Jude Okoye, former manager and elder brother of P-Square duo Peter and Paul Okoye, has been remanded at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre following allegations of financial misconduct. The Lagos State Special Offences Court in Ikeja ordered his detention ahead of a bail hearing scheduled for March 6.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has brought four charges against Okoye and his company, Northside Music Ltd, alleging that he misappropriated over $767,000 in royalties meant for Peter Okoye from digital music sales between 2016 and 2023.

Okoye has denied all allegations, while his legal team has filed for bail. The prosecution, however, has requested additional time to respond, prompting Justice Rahman Oshodi to adjourn proceedings.

Additionally, Okoye is facing separate money laundering charges amounting to N1.38 billion, $1 million, and £34,537.59 at the Federal High Court in Lagos. That court granted him bail on March 3 with a N100 million bond, requiring two sureties, and set April 14 for the trial to commence.
