Tunji Balogun, the visionary CEO of Def Jam Recordings, has added another feather to his already impressive cap, landing the No. 17 spot on Billboard’s prestigious Top Labels list.

He is a Nigerian American record label executive. He was a co-founder of Keep Cool and is currently the CEO of Def Jam Recordings. Balogun’s journey to the top is a testament to his dedication and strategic insight.

After making significant contributions to RCA Records, he joined Def Jam in 2022, taking over the reins from Eminem’s longtime manager, Paul Rosenberg. Since then, he has implemented innovative strategies, fostered a collaborative environment, and championed diverse talent, all while preserving Def Jam’s legendary hip-hop legacy.

His keen eye for talent and focus on cultural relevance have propelled the label forward, ensuring its continued relevance in a rapidly evolving music landscape.

Balogun’s visionary leadership led to the partnership of Def Jam and Native Records in September 2022. It has also led to the signing of Afrobeat stars like Odumodublvck, and Bloody Civilian
