Lagos State Government has extended its work-from-home policy for civil servants by an additional three months, in response to the rising cost of living.
The policy was originally introduced to alleviate the financial burden on civil servants.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Lagos State Head of Service, Bode Agoro, announced the extension of the “flexible work initiative,” effective from September 4th to December 3rd, 2024.
According to the directive, all accounting officers have been instructed to ensure compliance with the policy and to publicise it across the entire civil service for widespread awareness.
It should also be noted that, in February 2024, Governor Sanwo-Olu first implemented the work-from-home policy.
Under the arrangement, civil servants on grade levels 01 to 14 were allowed to work from home for two days a week, while those on grade levels 15 to 17 were permitted to work remotely for one day.
