The Federal Government has designated December 25 and 26, 2024, as public holidays for Christmas and Boxing Day, and January 1, 2025, for New Year celebrations.
Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, announced this through a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary, Dr Magdalene Ajani.
He has appealed to Nigerians to embrace the festive season as an opportunity for love, peace, and unity.
Dr Tunji-Ojo stated the importance of reflecting on the values of the season and fostering harmony within families and communities.
He reassured citizens of the government’s commitment to national peace, security, and economic prosperity.
The minister wished Nigerians a joyous Christmas and a prosperous New Year, expressing optimism about the Renewed Hope Agenda driving positive change in 2025.
