The Federal Government has declared Monday, September 16, 2024, a public holiday in celebration of the Eid-ul-Mawlid, marking the birth of the Prophet Muhammad.
This announcement was made in a statement on Friday by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Dr. Magdalene Ajani.
The declaration was delivered on behalf of the Federal Government by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.
Congratulating the Muslim Ummah both in Nigeria and abroad, the minister urged the faithful and all Nigerians to embrace the values of patience, sacrifice, and resilience.
He also encouraged them to take this time to pray for lasting peace and the prosperity of the nation.
