The Federal Government has allocated over N2 billion for the rehabilitation of the Federal Ministry of Justice headquarters in Abuja and its Lagos zonal office, as detailed in the 2025 appropriation bill.
The breakdown of the budget reveals that N2.03 billion has been earmarked for renovation projects, alongside N200 million for the maintenance of office buildings and residential quarters.
Additionally, N15 million is allocated for the upkeep of office furniture, N20 million for IT equipment, and N40 million for plants and generators.
In comparison, the 2024 budget allocated N971.95 million for similar repairs and renovations.
President Bola Tinubu presented the N49.7 trillion budget proposal, tagged “The Restoration Budget: Securing Peace, Building Prosperity,” to a joint session of the National Assembly on December 18.
Following its presentation, the Senate and the House of Representatives advanced the bill to the second reading during their plenary sessions on December 19.
