The Federal Government has announced plans to create one million jobs across the country’s 774 local government areas in an effort to combat youth unemployment.
This was disclosed on Friday in Abuja by the Minister of State for Youth Development, Comrade Ayodele Olawande.
According to Olawande, the government is focused on educating, inspiring, and connecting Nigerian youths to career opportunities in the insurance sector through the use of digital technology.
He further highlighted the government’s commitment to increasing youth involvement in the insurance industry as a means to create jobs and boost financial inclusion.
The initiative aims to empower the younger generation by providing them with access to viable careers and contributing to the nation’s economic growth.
This announcement follows a recent development from the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), which revealed plans to commence a new rural electricity project in November.
Funded by the World Bank, the project aims to provide electricity to 17.5 million Nigerians in rural areas, further supporting national development efforts.
