Fidelity Bank Partners with ImpactHER, Train Over 1,200 Women in Digital Skills.

Fidelity Bank Plc, in collaboration with ImpactHER has hosted another round of free digital and artificial intelligence skills training, benefitting 1,276 women entrepreneurs.

The training spanned five days, focused on equipping female business owners with essential digital tools to enhance their businesses.

Osita Ede, Fidelity Bank’s Divisional Head of Product Development, emphasized the importance of this initiative, noting that women-led small businesses account for over 40% of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises(MSMEs) in Nigeria.

He highlighted that empowering female entrepreneurs with relevant skills is vital for economic growth and aligns with the bank’s mission to help businesses thrive.

The training covered various topics such as Email Marketing, Harnessing AI for Content Creation, and Branding and Positioning

Founder of ImpactHER, Efe Ukala, stressed the importance of closing the digital skills gap for African women, citing statistics that show women are significantly less likely to leverage digital technology or file for technology patents. She added that closing this gap could add $180 billion to Africa’s GDP by 2025.

Participants praised the programme’s practical approach and the immediate applicability of the skills learned.

With the August 2024 cohort, the partnership between Fidelity Bank and ImpactHER has trained a total of 5,719 woman entrepreneurs.
