The House of Representatives has commenced an investigation into bribery allegations against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS).
The Joint Committees of the House extended invitations to EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukoyode and the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Correctional Service to appear on September 30th, following claims that cross-dresser Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, paid N15 million to have money laundering charges dropped and received VIP treatment during his prison sentence.
Bobrisky and social media influencer Martins Otse, known as VeryDarkMan, who released the voice recording alleging the bribery, have also been invited to testify.
In response to the allegations, EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyede ordered an investigation into the matter, inviting Bobrisky and VeryDarkMan to assist with the probe.
EFCC spokesman Dele Oyewale confirmed the establishment of a team to uncover the truth behind the claims.
