Nigerian street-hop star Ahmed Ololade Asake, who goes by the stage name Asake, has revealed how he was signed to YBNL after being spotted by ace rapper, Olamide.

Speaking in an interview, Asake revealed that she’s been sending him messages since 2020 but the rapper didn’t reply to any of her texts.

According to the “Sungba” hitmaker, he would slide into Olamides DM often asking for help, and reminding him about how much he helped his friends, including Fireboy.

The singer further said he attended the same school with fireboy, but the “peru” hit-maker experienced a break through in the entertainment business before he always brought it up while text messaging olamide all in a attempt to get the YBNL founder’s attention.

He added that sadly, all that didn’t work out at the time, but his dream turned to reality with the release of his smash hit, ‘Omo Ope’.

On how he met Olamide, Asake said the rap artiste put a call across to him and asked for a meeting only for him to reach there and get asked to join the YBNL family.

Asake reminisced on how excited he was and noted that he didn’t think twice about the offer before as he accepted immediately.

He also said that he was not really interested in going home with the terms of contract document to read through and sign because he just wanted to start making music as a YBNL artiste without delay.

The PBUY singer also crooner said that Olamide had made him realise that he had been watched for a long time before he was invited and signed.
