Nollywood star Idia Aisien is set to take her first steps into theatre as she joins the cast of Dear Father, a thought-provoking stage production premiering in London in June 2025.

The play, produced by The SUMI Group, marks the first stage adaptation of The SUMI Writers’ Àtẹ́wọ́ Collection, an anthology within the Invisible Hands catalogue that has been in development for over three decades. Dear Father explores themes of paternal sacrifice, love, and the role of men in safeguarding their daughters amid rising concerns over femicide.

Acclaimed actor Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD) will return to the London stage for the first time in nearly 40 years, sharing the spotlight with Aisien. The production also features Kunle Remi, Tobi Bakre, Ronke Oshodi-Oke, Akin Lewis, Mike Edwards, Oluwaseun Ola, and Tomi Ojo.

At the heart of the story is Nike, a daughter questioning the choices her father made for her, a narrative that unravels the intricate father-daughter relationship while shedding light on urgent social issues. With a stellar ensemble and a compelling script, Dear Father is expected to make a significant impact on the theatrical landscape.
