Nigerian singer, Adedamola Adefolahan, better known as Fireboy DML, has revealed how his dad forced him to sign an undertaking before he dropped out of school to move into Lagos.
The ‘Peru’ singer shared this while talking to Zee Millz, on how he started his career as an errand boy in recording studios.
Fireboy said he had spent too much time in the studio and was having trouble keeping up with his classes and it started to affect his grades in school.
After a while, the music heads realized he could write songs, so that was how they got him to compose for artistes.
The YBNL singer revealed that he eventually told his dad that he wanted to quit school in his final year and move to Lagos.
According to him, it was surprising but his father did not object, rather he made him sign an undertaking to always obey him, and after two years, if he does not blow then he would do whatever is asked of him.
Meanwhile, the YBNL artiste had earlier made clarifications that he is not a playboy as being widely believed.
According to Fireboy, he was surprised but his father did not oppose, rather he made him sign an undertaking to always obey him, and after two years, if he does not blow then he would do whatever is asked of him.
According to Fireboy, he named his third studio release ‘Playboy‘ to pass a message that he about to come out from their shell, play and have a good time like never before.
He noted that he had been shying about it in the past three year of his career, but was now set to step into the star role.
He said; “I want to put a disclaimer, it is not the kind of playboy everybody thinks. It is just a young man that decided to come out of his shell to play, to have fun, experience life, to step into his superstar element.
I’ve been shying away from it the past three years as a blown established artist, I think its time for me to step out of shell to enjoy the fame I’ve worked for over the past few years”.
