NAFDAC Denies Approval of Lungitox Herbal Product.

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has dismissed claims that it approved the herbal product Lungitox (Smokers Pride), marketed as a “long-cleansing tea” for smokers.

NAFDAC Director-General, Mojisola Adeyeye, clarified that the product, which falsely suggested that smoking could be made “healthy” with its use, was rejected during the registration process.

Adeyeye condemned the misleading social media video promoting the product and reiterated that it was not approved due to its unfounded and harmful claims.
