The Nasarawa State Government has taken charge of prosecuting Timileyin Ajayi, who is accused of murdering Salome Adaidu, a corps member.
The state’s Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Hauwa Jugbo, announced the decision on March 10, 2025, pledging a thorough legal process.
Jugbo emphasised that the move reflects Governor Abdullahi Sule’s dedication to justice and the rule of law. A team from the Ministry of Justice will handle the prosecution to ensure due process.
Ajayi was arrested on January 12 and faces a culpable homicide charge, which carries the death penalty. Despite his not guilty plea, legal authorities remain confident in their case, citing substantial evidence.
