The National Assembly (NASS) is considering moving President Bola Tinubu’s 2025 budget presentation from Tuesday to Wednesday, according to the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris.

Idris disclosed this during a briefing following the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting on Monday, stating that only NASS can determine the date for the President’s budget presentation.

He noted ongoing discussions with the legislature, making Wednesday a likely date for the presentation of the 2025 Appropriation Bill.

Initially scheduled for Tuesday, this would be President Tinubu’s second full budget presentation since assuming office in May 2023.

Earlier this month, the Senate approved the 2025–2027 Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) and Fiscal Strategy Paper (FSP).

The MTEF sets the foundation for the nation’s budget and projects key economic parameters, including an exchange rate of ₦1,400 to the dollar and oil prices of $75, $76.2, and $75.3 per barrel for 2025, 2026, and 2027, respectively.
