The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has disclosed plans to auction 15,325 litres of petrol seized during its operations.

The product will be sold to the public at ₦400 per litre to alleviate transportation challenges during the festive season.

Addressing journalists at the Customs Training College, Ikeja, on December 21, 2024, the National Coordinator of Operation Whirlwind, Assistant Comptroller General Hussein Ejibunu, stated the recent confiscation of 613 jerrycans of petrol, valued at ₦27.57 million, by Customs operatives in the Lagos-Ogun axis.

According to Ejibunu, the operation, which began on May 27, 2024, has yielded significant results in curbing the activities of economic saboteurs.
