Nigeria Declares October 1st Public Holiday for 64th Independence Day.

The Federal Government has announced the 1st of October 2024 as a public holiday to mark Nigeria’s 64thh Independence Day Anniversary.

This announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on behalf of the government.

In a briefing on Friday, the minister, represented by his Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, extended his congratulations to Nigerians, both at home and abroad.

Dr. Tunji-Ojo acknowledged the resilience and hard work of citizens, assuring them that their efforts and sacrifices will be furtile.

He further aligned with the theme of the anniversary, calling for reflection on the contributions of past heroes.

Additionally, Tunji-Ojo emphasized the importance of unity in achieving the collective vision of a prosperous Nigeria.

As the celebration approaches, Dr. Tunji-Ojo wished all Nigerians a joyous Independence Day and urged everyone to remain committed to the country’s development.
