On Sunday, the Federal Government of Nigeria welcomed Cuba’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Parrilla, during his official visit to the country. The visit highlights the strong, long-standing bilateral relations between Nigeria and Cuba, built on mutual respect and cooperation.

A statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasised both nations’ historic partnership, especially in their roles in the fight against apartheid and support for African liberation movements.

During his visit, Parrilla will meet with Nigeria’s Foreign Minister, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, to discuss deepening ties in healthcare, education, agriculture, science, technology, and cultural exchange. The two countries will also explore strengthening cooperation within multilateral frameworks to address global challenges.

Parrilla is also scheduled to meet with Vice President Kashim Shettima and engage in discussions with Senate President Godswill Akpabio. Both nations share similar views on global peace, security, and sustainable development, with a commitment to advancing shared interests.
