The Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) deported at least 61 foreign nationals in August 2024 as part of efforts to combat irregular migration in the country.
This was revealed in a report highlighting the NIS achievements for the month.
The report also noted that during the same period, the new visa policy facilitated the issuance of 8,352 Visas on Arrival to travelers.
The deportation measure is in line with Nigeria’s efforts to regulate migration and ensure compliance with immigration laws.
Prior, the NIS has deported foreign nationals, with no fewer than 70 individuals being deported between 2020 and 2022.
