The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited has declared a Gas Sale and Purchase Agreement (GSPA) between its subsidiary, NNPC Gas Marketing Limited (NGML), and Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals FZE.
The agreement, signed on Tuesday at Dangote’s Corporate Head Office in Lagos by NGML Managing Director Barr. Justin Ezeala and Dangote Group CEO Aliko Dangote, will supply natural gas for power generation and feedstock at the Dangote Refinery in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos.
Under the agreement, NGML will provide 100 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCF/D) of natural gas, comprising 50 MMSCF/D of firm supply and 50 MMSCF/D of interruptible supply, for an initial term of 10 years with renewal options.
NNPC’s Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Olufemi Soneye, described the development as a historic achievement with zero capital expenditure, aligning with President Bola Tinubu’s agenda to harness Nigeria’s gas resources for industrial growth.
The collaboration is expected to enhance domestic gas utilization and support the operational success of the Dangote Refinery.
It underscores NGML’s dedication to excellence and NNPC’s mandate to bolster energy security through strategic gas initiatives.
