The Gubernatorial Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), for the September 21 Edo State governorship election, Asue Ighodalo, has pledged to stimulate business growth and eradicate poverty if elected into power.

Speaking to traders at the New Benin Market on Monday, Ighodalo promised to put an end to the harassment from those imposing illegal levies and promote widespread prosperity.

Indeed, Ighodalo has presented his party as the only hope to the people of Edo State, hence, describing the party as the beacon of light, urging traders to reject negativity and support the party.

He emphasised his commitment to transforming Edo State by mirroring the success of less endowed regions. “Vote for the PDP, which signifies good and represents light,” Ighodalo stated, comparing his dedication to that of a son who returns to support his family.

The Coordinator of the New Benin Market Christian Traders Fellowship, Ero Amienghomwan, expressed hopes that Ighodalo would be inaugurated at Osadebey Avenue by December 1, 2024.

Additionally, Mrs. Blacky Ogiemen, President of the Edo State Market Women/Traders, rallied support for Ighodalo, urging women to vote for the PDP with its umbrella symbol on election day.
