President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, to attend the 19th Heads of State and Government Summit of the G20, scheduled for November 18 and 19.
Upon his arrival, the president was received by Brazilian officials, including Amb. Breno Costa of the Ministry of External Relations.
His delegation includes key ministers such as Yusuf Tuggar (Foreign Affairs), Idi Maiha (Livestock Development), Hannatu Musawa (Arts, Tourism, Culture, and Creativity), Dr. Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi (State Minister for Agriculture and Food Security), and Amb. Mohammed Mohammed (Director General, National Intelligence Agency).
The summit, hosted by Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, brings together global leaders to discuss pressing issues under the theme “Building a Just World and a Sustainable Planet.”
Key topics include combating global poverty and hunger, energy transition, and sustainable development.
President Tinubu will advocate for reforms in global governance institutions, reaffirming Nigeria’s aspiration for a permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council.
On the sidelines, he is set to hold bilateral talks aimed at advancing Nigeria’s socio-economic reforms in agriculture, energy, and infrastructure.
