President Bola Tinubu will leave Abuja on Sunday for Rio de Janeiro to attend the 19th G20 Leaders Summit scheduled for November 18 and 19.

The summit, hosted by Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, will convene leaders of the world’s largest economies to discuss global challenges under the theme “Building a Just World and a Sustainable Planet.” Key topics include poverty eradication, hunger, energy transition, and sustainable development.

Presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga highlighted that Tinubu will advocate for reforms in global governance institutions, aligning with Nigeria’s longstanding push for a permanent United Nations Security Council seat.

The President will also hold bilateral talks with global leaders to advance Nigeria’s socio-economic reforms, focusing on agriculture, energy, and infrastructure. He will be joined by high-level officials, including Yusuf Tuggar, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Mukhtar Maiha, Minister of Livestock Development; and Hannatu Musawa, Minister of Arts, Tourism, Culture, and Creativity.
