President Bola Tinubu is set to officially induct seven new ministers today, November 4, 2024 following their recent Senate approval.

The news was shared in a Sunday statement by Presidential Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

The appointees include Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda as Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi as Minister of Labour & Employment, and Bianca Odinaka Odumegwu-Ojukwu as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.

Also joining the cabinet are Dr. Jumoke Oduwole as Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Idi Mukhtar Maiha as Minister of Livestock Development, Yusuf Abdullahi Ata as Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, and Dr. Suwaiba Said Ahmad as Minister of State for Education.

The nominations followed a recent cabinet shake-up in response to public demand for stronger economic management.

President Tinubu replaced five ministers and re-assigned 10 others, aiming to address pressing economic challenges and optimize governance.

In August 2023, Tinubu appointed an initial group of 48 ministers shortly after assuming office.

Amid economic concerns, however, the administration saw increased pressure to revamp the cabinet.
