The Nigerian Senate will begin the screening of seven ministerial nominees announced by President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday, following the President’s request for their confirmation.

In a statement on Monday, the Special Adviser to the President on Senate Matters, Senator Basheer Lado, confirmed that the ministerial nominees have begun submitting the necessary documents ahead of their screening and confirmation.

He noted that this documentation is the initial step in the process of their confirmation in compliance with Section 147 of the Nigerian Constitution (as amended).

The nominees include Nentawe Yilwatda for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Muhammadu Dingyadi for Labour & Employment, Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu for State Foreign Affairs, and Jumoke Oduwole for Industry, Trade and Investment.
