Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has condemned her six-month suspension from the Senate, calling it an injustice.
The Kogi Central lawmaker was suspended after the Senate disciplinary committee found her guilty of violating Senate rules following her sexual harassment allegations against Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
Despite calls for a reduced penalty, the Senate upheld the suspension but left room for reconsideration if she submits a written apology. While her salaries were initially halted, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu successfully argued against punishing her aides.
The dispute began over a seating arrangement issue on February 20, 2025, escalating into sexual harassment claims against Akpabio, which he denied. Natasha’s petition was dismissed before her suspension. She insists the decision will not stand and vows to keep fighting for justice.
