Speed Darlington Granted ₦20m Bail Over Cybercrime Charges

Singer Darlington Achakpo, popularly known as Speed Darlington, has been granted ₦20 million bail by Justice Ekerete Akpan of the Federal High Court in Abuja.

The bail includes one surety of equal sum, who must be a Level 10 civil servant residing in Abuja, either with the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) or the federal government.

The surety must submit verified employment documents and an affidavit of means.

Speed Darlington is also required to surrender his international passport and provide passport photographs alongside the surety.

Until the bail conditions are met, he will remain in Kuje Correctional Centre.

The case, involving cybercrime allegations filed by the Inspector-General of Police, has been adjourned to March 18 for trial.
