In a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu expressed hope for stronger Nigeria-U.S. relations amid today’s global challenges and opportunities.
Trump, who claimed victory on Wednesday, defeated Kamala Harris in his White House comeback.
He pledged to unify the country following his win.
Tinubu lauded Trump’s return to office, viewing it as a testament to the trust of the American people and a reinforcement of democratic values.
President Tinubu emphasised that Trump’s leadership experience as the 45th president (2017-2021) positions him well to promote economic cooperation and peace.
He anticipates a mutually beneficial relationship between Africa and the United States, seeing Trump’s influence as pivotal in guiding global events toward prosperity and stability.
