Nigerian President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu will embark on a trip to France on Monday, August 19, 2024.
This was disclosed on the Night of Sunday, August 18, in a brief statement by the Special adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, citing that the president will set off for the trip from Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.
Ngelale stated that the president would return to the country following his brief working visit in France.
The reason for the trip, however, remains undisclosed.
This is coming two days after the President returned to Abuja from the Equatorial Guinea, honouring the invitation of President Teodoro Mbasogo. An invitation that resulted in signing of agreements and reviewing of opportunities to improve bilateral relations.
Recalls that the president prohibited unauthorised government officials from attending the forthcoming United Nations General Assembly, UNGA, in New York, United States.
The presidency issued this directive to reduce excessive governance costs, especially as unauthorised officials have previously indulge in this trips for personal interests on the sidelines.
The directive was communicated to officials of government by the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajiabiamila, during a one-day retreat organised by State House management for heads of agencies under the presidency.
