Warri Refinery Back in Operation at 60% Capacity After Years of Inactivity.

The Warri Refining and Petrochemical Company (WRPC) in Delta State has resumed operations, producing 125,000 barrels per day (bpd) at 60% capacity.

NNPCL Group CEO Mele Kyari announced this during a facility tour, highlighting the refinery’s production of diesel, kerosene, and naphtha.

He credited the restart to President Bola Tinubu’s directive to rehabilitate Nigeria’s refineries.

President Tinubu praised the achievement, calling it a major step toward boosting local refining capacity and energy security.

The WRPC restart follows the recent reopening of the Port Harcourt Refinery, as NNPCL works to restore all four state-owned refineries.

WRPC will focus on producing key products like Automotive Gas Oil (AGO) and kerosene, further strengthening Nigeria’s position in the oil refining industry.
