The Minister of Finance, Wale Edun, met with EU Ambassador Gautier Mignot in Abuja to discuss enhancing economic cooperation between Nigeria and the European Union.

The EU, Nigeria’s largest trading partner, proposed a formal trade and investment dialogue to boost collaboration in infrastructure, green finance, and sustainable development. With a €1.3 billion investment portfolio in Nigeria, the EU seeks to deepen economic ties through initiatives like the Global Gateway Investment Strategy.

Edun reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to macroeconomic stability and investor-friendly reforms, highlighting a projected GDP growth of 4.6% by 2025. Key projects such as the Trans-Saharan Gas Pipeline and the National Single Window trade system were also discussed.

Both parties expressed optimism about strengthening their economic partnership for mutual growth.
