Tigran Gambaryan, an executive at Binance Holdings, has been cleared of all charges brought against him by the EFCC due to health reasons.

Gambaryan, a United States citizen, was facing a money laundering trial in Nigeria and had been detained since April.

During a hearing at the Federal High Court in Abuja, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) counsel announced the decision before Justice Emeka Nwite.

The EFCC lawyer explained that Gambaryan, as an employee of Binance, was not directly involved in the company’s broader financial activities.

Counsel to Gambaryan, Mark Mordi, agreed, emphasising his client’s limited role within the company.

Gambaryan’s health concerns had previously been raised, but a second bail application was rejected on 11 October, with the judge deeming his health claims insufficient for bail.

After being absent from the 18 October hearing due to reported health issues in detention, the trial was rescheduled for 25 October.

However, the charges were dropped before that date in an unpublicised hearing, effectively concluding the legal proceedings against him.
