Nigerian musician Korede Bello recently spoke with Punch News about his decision to release his new album in 2024. Explaining the delay in new music, the God Win crooner shared that he deliberately waited for this leap year as it holds special significance for him. According to Korede Bello, the album serves as a personal gift and symbolizes his advocacy for mental health awareness.
He said “I guess I was waiting for my birthday. Because I was on February 29 (a leap year), I always have to wait for four years to celebrate my birthday. The album was created around ‘Kore Day’, my birthday. It is a story of Kore’s Day—a birthday gift to myself. It is an intimate project created to feel like a therapy session, which is a subtle nod to the mental health advocacy I do”.
The former Mavins artist, regarded as a leap-year baby, has set the release date for his upcoming album. The album Koreday drops on March 22, 2024. The singer described the 18-track album as his “best body of work yet”showcasing his artistic growth and evolution.
